Hi Folks,

Long time no see, (so to speak anyway). I have been a little busy on my stampin' up blog though which you can few here. I promise to make some regular entries here as well now that I have my computer up and running again. In fact i have been tempted to use this blog again because last night I attend (cyber of course) a blogging tutorial over at crafters Anonymous. I learnt how to make my siggy appear in my blogger spot posts. How cool is that. Thanks Tia for your patience with me last night. I love it.

Clearly Dasher

Hi there,

Just another reason to love Dasher, don't you agree. This is such a simple card to make and a little different. Clear acetate is used or the thick window sheet from Stampin Up. You must pre-score your fold and only Staz-on inks will stay on there permanently. Here I have used the cotton white Staz-on with the snow flurries stamp set from last catty, but any snowflake stamp will work. I have embossed a peice of pear pizazz with the petals-a-plenty folder. I have inked dasher in poppy parade and sponged around the edges. For a decorative edge the scallop trim border punch was just perfect. To disguise my adhesive from the inside I cut peices of white cardstock the same measurement as the pear pizazz on the front and stuck them first to the inside top, then with the card closed I stuck down the back piece, then opened it out and stuck on the last inside peice. Remember to keep all your edges as even as possible.

CARD RECIPE;

STAMPS; dasher, elements of style

CARDSTOCK;old olive, cherry cobbler, crumb cake, whisper white, jolly holiday designer paper

INKS; crumb cake, early espresso

ACCESSORIES; old olive satin ribbon, paper piecering tool, white pearls, sponge.

After inking up dasher with crumb cake, sponge a little early espresso around the edge to give the two tone effect, and cut him out without antlers, then mount him over another image stamped in early espresso. Flourish is stamped from elements of style as a background onto crumb cake using the same colour ink. Place some pearls over stars in the antlers.

Side Step cards

Hi Peeps,

Just thought I'd post a couple of my latest creations. The Blushing Bride side step card was one from class last weekend. The cherry cobbler is another colour combo that I cased from a friend (thx for the inspiration Michelle) I can't decide which one I like best. I'm a pink person but there is just something bout red and black together.

Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Whisper White colour combo.

Cherry cobbler, Basic Black, Very Vanilla colour combo. Notice how I have used the Beautiful Wings embossing and cutting die for this card. It can be found on page 151 of the main Catalogue. As the name suggests it cuts and embosses at the same time, and can also be used in the cuttlebug as well as the Big Shot.

Tinaroo retreat Card Challenge

This card Challenge took me about 57mins (with 3 mins to spare) I love the way it turned out. We were given the stamp set (Funky Four) and papers to use for it and were able to use another colour. I added early espresso to the mix of pumkin pie and rose red. It's amazing what you can come up with when you're encouraged to think outside the box. My favourite part was the paper piecing of the mushrooms, a little fiddly but worth the effort.

Thx to the generous voting of the others, it came first place. Whoo Hoo! I was overwhelmed.

Ornament Punch

The Ornament punch makes very quick X'mas cards as shown in this card. The Welcome Christmas stamp set was used and stamped first in cherry cobbler before punching the ornament out. Another ornament was punched from cherry and stuck behind the first to act as a shadow and make it pop out from the background. Perfect polka dots embossing folder was used behind the ornament. Elements of style was used as the stamped background to give it more of an old fashioned feel. Thx for looking,

Lving the new Stamp set of Elements of Style. It makes the most divine cards. Here it is used as a wedding card. Colour Combo used is Early Espresso, cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Crumb Cake. I have combined it with the Top Note die, pearls and Scallop trim border. Hope you like it.

More Contempo Christmas

Just some more of the X'Mas cards that I have been working on. I've been playing with all different ways in which to use the Contempo Christmas stamp set from Stampin' Up. The first card uses the colour combo of elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Whisper white with some silver embossing. The Baroque Motifs set was also used for the flourish b/g.

The second card uses Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive with very Vanilla. Vintage Vogue, Tree Trimmings, Occasional Quotes Stamp sets were also used in the making of this card. The measurements for this Tri-Shutter Card were taken from the latest issue of the Stamping and Papercraft mag. It's a little hard to see in these photos but the hook for the ornament on the front of the card was cut from a silver paper clip. You can get three hooks from each paper clip. Be sure to use your craft and rubber scissors to cut through it though, and not your good paper snips.

X'Mas Cards

I just love making Christmas cards, and with Stampin' Ups Contempo Christmas stamp set it makes it all too easy. It is such an economical set to have with the verses also included and a matching punch for the ornament. There is even a wheel designed to perfectly co-ordinate both your cards and scrapbooking pages alike. For this card the tree and verses were used.

CARD RECIPE:

Stamps; Contempo Christmas.

Cardstock; Garden Green, Bravo burgundy, Night of Navy, Whisper white, Garden Green dsp.

Inks; Garden Green and reinker, Bravo Burgundy.

Accessories; cuttlebug embossing folder, spritzer bottle filled with a few drops of green reinker and water, eyelet border punch, sponge for edges of white, glue and dazzling diamonds, burgundy grosgrain ribbon.

For this tent topper card my folded base card measures 9.8cm x 21cm (before folding) making it quite easy to get 3 base cards from the one sheet of A4 cardstock. Make sure that when you put your tent topper peice on that it still fits within the measurements of your C6 envelope.

Latest X'mas Card

Well I could quote how many more days til X'mas, but I won't, I'm sure you all know how rapidly it is approaching. For this years cards I don't think I could through without the stamp set Contempo Christmas and matching Ornament punch. Here I have teamed it with the new colours of Pear Pizazz, Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake (yes Crumb Cake is the new name for Kraft, sounds much more yummy). I have also used the Petals a Plenty embossing folder which looks like tiny poinsettia flowers and of course the new scallop trim border punch. Throw in the co-ordinated In Colour designer paper and there you have it. For details on the measurments for the Side Step card you can check out Julie Davisons blog here which is where I cased the card from.

Loving this card, must make some more. Thanks for looking

Here is my swap card for the Tablelands retreat. I had to make 40 of these babys so I wasn't up for watercolouring or any cutting out. I cheated and used the flower punch. For those of you that would like the recipe here it is.

Swap card Receipe:

Cardstock; Pumpkin Pie, Baja breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper white.

Designer series Paper; Green house Gala

Inks; Pumpkin Pie, baja breeze, chocolate chip

Stamp; For you Flower

Accessories; paper piercer and mat pack, flower punch, crop a dile, twine, top note die, vintage wallpaper embossing folder, scallop edge punch, 1 and 1/4 circle punch, edge distresser.

The top note die is cut in half after being embossed then sponged with chocolate chip ink. The edges of each of the d/p are distressed. I was pleased with the way it turned out hope you like it too.

New Autumn -Winter mini Catalogue

And welcome to another post! Have throughly enjoyed my Easter break and am now ready to get back on track with my craft. Have you seen this new Mini catalogue yet? It is one of the greatest I have seen since being with Stampin' Up. I'm totally loving it. If you haven't got a copy yet, please contact me and I will post one out asap. Easter Blessings

Hi Stampers,

Can you believe there is only 1 week until Easter. Where did that time go? I hope anyone travelling arrives there safe and sound. For me I hope the rain eases up and that camping will be possible.

Here are some photos of the easter card from my last cardmaking workshop. It has a little white brad at the top to work as a hinge to reveal a hidden message. Thought it was quite sweet. Here is the recipe:

A Male card

Hi fellow crafters,

I know two posts in one day, that's one for my record book. I've made a Man's card with a difference for this post. One of the questions I get asked constantly is what to use for mens cards. Even when I make them I seem to want to use fish and boats. But what about those Men who don't like fishing? I've combined a variety of techniques on this card all of which can be used on many other cards eg: bleaching (using the scroll from Baroque Motifs), crimping, corner rounding, faux tearing, sponging and a new one I've learnt slit punch border.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Happy Moments (sale-a-bration set ), Sanded background

Inks: Staz on black, Basic Gray

Cardstock: Confetti Cream, Basic Black, Basic Gray

Accessories: corner rounder punch, slit punch large oval punch, scallop oval punch, crimper, sponge, bleach and paper towel, scrap paper for mask for faux tearing technique, Stamp-a-ma-jig to position black stamped scroll slightly off bleached scroll.

Hi there,

Just a quick little post with a card that I made about a month ago using the Something sweet stamp set from the Summer mini catalogue. It is still my fav set out of the book, and i just love using the cups for all sorts of things.

CARD RECIPE:

Stamp set: Something Sweet

Cardstock: Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Rose red, Whisper White, Kaiser printed paper

Inks: Rose Red

Accesories: ribbon, eyelet border punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, large oval punch, small silver brad, one treat cup.

I have filled my cup with some tic tacs. I would have liked to have put in some chocolate, but with the heat we are having up here at the moment that would have been a disaster. The tab at the top of the card is a slider to allow access to the treats inside the cup. There's not much point in having edibles in there if you can't eat them.

Sympathy Card

Hi there,

I have been wanting to try out this colour combo and thought that it would make a nice sympathy card. I am so loving the colour kraft at the moment it is the new Chocolate Chip for me. Here is the card recipe;

CARD RECIPE:

Cardstock; Kraft, lovely lilac, very vanilla

Ink; creamy caramel, lovely lilac, chocolate chip

Stamps used; Thoughts and Prayers, Friends 24-7

Punches; Scallop oval, large oval

Accessories; Jamara embossing folder, sponges, half back pearls.

This card was made extra large by simply folding an A4 sheet of Lovely lilac in half, but could be easily scaled down to make a standard A5 size.

A card for you

Hi to all,
Here is a Valentine card that I made for my husband. I know I know, it is a little late to be showing you now but it's better than never. I'm still loving this card even though I've used on it Brilliant Blue (a colour I never usually touch). The background white cardstock is splattered with some brilliant blue and real red reinkers mixed with a little water using a toothbrush. Looks so effective doesn't it. I've used markers for colouring with the blender pens (another technique I haven't used for a while). A few jumbo eyelets for tyres and some crystal effects on the windows
gives the card just a little extra. I like the way the Vintage Label stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue can be used with other verses as well. The real red card behind the truck has first been wet then scrunched and let dry before sticking to card. If you need any further details on making this card please send me an email.

Wedding Card

Hi there everyone,

Just a quick post today to show you a card using one of my favourite stamp sets "Fifth Avenue". I have embossed the rose in white and used watercolour crayons to add the colour.

Cardstock used is Cameo Coral, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla.

The Wide oval punch was used for the frame around Mr. & Mrs. The frame is one from a set called vintage Labels which is available as a free set when you spend $100 this Feb and March. for more information please contact me.

Merry Xmas

I hope everyone a had very merry Xmas and caught up with family and friends. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my Customers and class ladies for their loyal support over the last year. With the New Year almost upon us I am hoping to continue sharing and creating with you even more. It has been a very enjoyable year spending it with my regular class ladies and also having the opportunity to meet more and share my passion for creating with everyone. My blog has been a little sad over the last few months but I promise that keeping up to date with it is on my New Years Resolutions list. Fun Fair makes great cards

Welcome to my second post in only one day. In keeping with the circus theme check out this bright card for a baby boy. It uses the same range of paper "Fun Fair" from Kaiser that I am using in my Scrapping Class for tomorrow (see below for a sneak peek). It is just a little different to the usual baby cards that I make with their pastel colours. Enjoy. I hope I have given you some wee bit of INSPIRATION.

Wednesday Morning Scrapbooking 11th Nov 09

Hi to everyone,

This weeks class is very bright and colourful. I have used Kaisers range of "Fun Fair" papers. I've been in the mood for a little clowning around and these papers are just what I need. You can see that they make beautiful pages for Show, Circus, Zoo, Monkey Around, Baby Boy, Toddler and many other themes. Sometimes you just need to think outside the box.

I have used 4 photos on my layout, cropped 2 into circles and left the other 2 as standard landscape, but as always we can work around your own photos. Some Crystal Effects Glaze and red ultra fine glitter are a must when doing this layout. A few bright buttons are needed with some string for tying them and also for the animals tails. I have used some joggily eyes for my animals. Other templates and punches will be provided for in the class. Class starts at 9:30 -12:30 pm at the cost of $15 with morning tea provided. All the papers are available from Hooked on Scrapbooking on the day of the class. Please don't forget to bring your basic scrapbooking kit.

Wednesday Morning Scrapbooking 28th Oct

Time for another sneak peek of this weeks Scrapping Class to be held at Hooked on Scrapbooking, Edith Street Innisfail. The theme is Heritage or Family Tradition. I Have used a range of papers from Basic Grey "Mellow". The tree is designed by me and features heart shaped leaves. I have used a large 8 x 10" photo cropped a little on the first page and two standard 4 x 6" for the second page. As usual this layout can be adapted to suit your own size of photos and other various themes such as outdoor, autumn, gardening. I look forward to seeing you in class.

Don't you just love Waterfall cards, from beginning to end they are so much fun.

Card Recipe:

STAMPS: Great Friend

CARD: Purely Pomegranite, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White

INKS: Purely Pomegranite, Wild Wasabi

ACCESSORIES: Crop-a-dile, ribbon, linen thread, scoring blade for personal paper trimmer, white brads, stamp-a-ma-jig

INSTRUCTIONS:

The waterfall piece is cut at 23 x 5cm, and scored at 5, 7, 9, 11cm. The four stamped squares are 5cm and the mats are cut at 5 1/2 cm. Remember to place the tape only on the bottom where the last square is positioned.

Tea bag folding

Hi fellow crafters,

I have a little card here for you to help inspire those X'mas ideas. The tree is just formed from a series of teabag folds. Starting with a square of 7cm then 6cm, 5cm, 4cm, and lastly 3cm at the top. In a envelope the tree sits perfectly flat, but when put on display it really pops to give the branches a lifelike look. I have kept the rest of the card fairly simple just using ribbon and a christmas rub-on. The colour combination I have used is Always Artichoke, Rose Red, and Baja Breeze.

One for the Boys

Just a quick post to show you a card using Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black and Pacific Point (not my favourite colour but I'm learning to use it). The Skull stamp is a small one used from Stamp It. I've used my trusty old dymo labeller for the Happy Birthday. The Large Skull has been cut from the Cricut machine using Indy Art cartridge and coated with Crystal Effects. Enjoy.

With soaring temperatures here in North Queensland, and dust from storms reaching us also, I thought we could use a little cooling off. What a cute card for a girl of any age. Remember that ice-cream comes in any flavour these days so you could always do it for a boy using Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue (banana, mint, and blueberry flavoured ice-cream). That sounds so yummy I might do one for myself.
If you don't already own a scallop circle punch this is just another reason why you should. By cutting off 5 scallops it works so well as a scoop of ice-cream. Notice the grid technique for the waffle cone. It is just done using a bone scorer and ruler.
I have used for the sprinkles a stamp from the Itty Bitty Backgrounds (which is unfortunately discontinued), but you could dot in sprinkles with a writer pen. I have also dotted a little Crystal Effects to make them glossy.
Happy Birthday sentiment is from Occasional greetings.
Colours used are:
Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Creamy Caramel. How Delicious it all sounds.

Makeesha's Sketch Challenge 13

Thanks Keesh for such a fabulous sketch yet again. They always manage to get my creative juices flowing. I really felt like doing a pretty card and I've had a thing for So Safforn at the moment.

CARD RECEIPE:

STAMPS: Soft Summer, Weathered Background

INKS: Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Staz on Black

CARDSTOCK: Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Watercolour paper, A Walk in the Park designer paper.

PUNCHES: Scallop border, Scallop Square, Slit

ACCESSORIES: watercolour crayons (regal rose, so saffron, certainly celery, close to coco, bordering blue) Aqua painter, pink pirouette striped grograin, linen thread, dimensionals, sponges

INSTRUCTIONS:

Scallop border punch is used down the side of a folded Very Vanilla A5 card.
A narrow strip of pink pirouette is placed underneath this.
A piece of so saffron is used to cover the front of the card and stamped with the weathered background in so saffron and edges are sponged as well.
cut 3 square scallops from pink and place an even spaces down right side of card.
cut 3 x 3cm squares from designer paper and glue to square scallops.
stamp using staz on black the flower from Soft Summer stamp set onto watercolour paper twice, and colour with crayons and aqua painter. It is hard to see in the photo but I have gone around lightly with bordering blue following the edge of the stamped image to create a soft shadow. Sponge with pink around the edges of watercolour paper.
from second image cut and mount the flowers and leaves onto first.
stick this to a peice of pink with a wide border down the bottom.
use the slit punch to make a hole for the ribbon. Tie ribbon off with some linen thread or cotton. Place on front of card. See photo for placement.

More X'mas Cards

Hi fellow cardmakers,

I have a couple of more X'mas cards for you today. I have borrowed this stamp set off a friend (thx Brenda) only now I have fallen in love with it and must have one of my own.

The second card is done using the colours of So Saffron and Brocade Blue. I have actually cased this colour scheme off the Splitcoast Stampers site, the designers name is Lori Boyd. Notice how the background has been stamped first with Whisper white and Brocade blue before being embossed with the Cuttlebug. I have stamped the tree in versamark onto gloss cardstock and ran a brayer inked with Brocade Blue backwards and forwards on the surface. This resist technique has a real magic feel to it when your stamped image starts to materialize from the card.

My first card uses Riding Hood Red and Garden green, colours that are pretty traditional as far as Christmas goes. The only difference here is that before embossing my Whisper white cardstock through the Cuttlebug, I inked the the inside of the folder with my Red ink pad. I rubbed it on the surface that has the brand name. When it cames out the snowfakes remain white but the debossed area has changed colour. A little messy but very effective.

Welcome to another sneak peek of my next Scrappin' class. With spring in the air what better way to celebrate than with lots of flowers, butterflies and beads. This is a very girly type of layout but could be substituted for a wedding theme, by chooosing some elegant and soft papers.

In this class you will learn some ways in which to attach beads to your layout. We will also be using some die cut butterflies and embossing them. Your Crop-a-dile is more than a means to set eyelets and punch holes, learn how to use it to create and embossed border. Hi again,

Couldn't help but to share this card as soon as it was made. Pink Passion and Chocolate Chip are just delightful colours that go together so well. This is the first time that I have used the Fresh Cuts stamp set with the 5-Petal Flower punch. This card is a standard A5 size but then scored at 53mm from each end to form the gate fold in the middle. The edges of the punched out flowers are inked with Chocolate Chip as is the white rectangle in centre of card to soften them. For You is stamped in Whisper White craft ink then dried with a heat tool so it doesn't smudge. The ribbon is tied around the card to keep it together before the centre bit is taped down on the left side only.

Love is in the Air

With spring comes love and that means lots of weddings. I've had a couple of recent ones with not so traditional colour schemes. On both cards I have used For The Bride stamp set but with totally different colours. The first card is Whisper White and Basic Black with silver embossing, while the second is in Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip and gold embossing. The second card is also a gate fold card. Base is cut at 14.5cm x 29cm then scored at 7.25cm from each end to create the middle opening on the card.

Hope this gives you some inspiration.

Christmas at the Beach

Hi there everyone,

I'm definately in Christmas mode at the moment and have another card to share with you. This stamp set is from the latest mini catty and called Season's Surfin'. So appropriate for us in North Queensland. Check out the side view of this card, it's sop different and easy to do.

I have cut my card base to 14.5 cm x 29.7 cm then scored at 3cm, 6cm, 11cm, 16cm and 23cm. I started the fold with a mountain fold then valley and alternated finishing off with a mountain. Decorate as desired. Be careful not to go too high with the back section or it won't fit in an envelope.

Wednesday Scrapbooking 9th September

Welcome back to another week of scrapbooking. I apologise for my absence last week due to sick kids. We are back on for theis Wednesday morning 9th September at Hooked on Scrapbooking, Edith Street, Innisfail.

Here are a couple of the sneak peeks of the double page Layout. This weeks theme is masculine. I have used three landscape 4 x 6" photos which I have cropped a little. The themes used could be anywhere from boys graduation, fathers day, sport, first bike or car. The page is designed to be very "Grungy" with lots of distressing and hardware used, as well as some random machine stitching around the edge. A must for this layout is Alfoil, yes plain old kitchen alfoil, that helps to create our faux metallic title. It's very easy and lots of fun to use. Wedding Layout

I know I'm a little late for this one, but it has been a huge week. Wedding is definately the theme with lots of pretties and frames. Have Your self a Aussie Little X'mas

I just love Australian X'mas cards. With all the heat and sunshine we have up here in North Queensland at X'mas, it's hard to think of Snowman and Snowflakes. Thats why the Happy Christmas Mate stamp set is perfect for both friends here and abroad. These two cards have been created for my last CWA workshop. The Koala card is using Real Red, Whisper White and the Green Galore colour combo, with the Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder. The layout is based on an old Mojo Monday sketch.

My second card uses Ruby Red, Always Artichoke, and Cool Carribean. All images have been coloured using the Water Colour crayons on water colour paper. The designer paper down the bottom has been paper pierced, and before putting Surfin' Santa down, I have used Crystal Effects on his beard and lights, then sprinkled over Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The circle is outlined to match the stamp with a black Writer pen as is the verse.

Wednesday Morning Scrapbooking 26th August

It's that time again for another sneak peek of this coming Wednesdays scrapping class at Hooked on Scrapbooking.
This L/o is dedicated to the special little girls in our lives. Even though mine is a birthday L/o, it would be suitable for a variety of girl photos. By using other embellishments these pages could also be used for boys. The paper I have used is Crate Paper from the "Kaitin" range. Any other double sided prints would work. Wednesday Morning Scrapbooking 19th August

Hi to all,

That time of the week again where I give you a sneak peek of what is to come for our class on Wednesday morning. This weeks theme is School Days portrait, however any portrait can be used for this double page l/o. I have used one 5" x 7" portrait and two smaller 4" x 6" portraits that can be left that size or cropped. Landscape photos would also work just by turning the l/o around. There is lots of edge distressing, some punching, stamping, and eyelet setting. It's a fun l/o but would also be suitable for some heritage photos as it has a little vintage style about it. I tried to do it this way to suit two of my ladies this week. One has School photos that need doing and another is especially keen to make a heritage page. So thanks for the challenge Kathy and Margaret.

Remember that Scrapbooking classes are held at Hooked on Scrapbooking, Edith Street, Innisfail, near the Goondi Hotel and boookings are needed prior to the morning to confirm a place.

Baby Cards

Just a quick little post to show you what I've been busy doing. I have been making these baby nappy cards for years now and they still seem to be popular with friends and family. They are too cute. Don't you agree.

I have used small small baby washers that have been cut into fours, to make four nappies, and used what I call the kite fold nappy technique. They have been sercured with darling little coloured safety pins (even though I could only use the snappy on all of the nappies I did).

The verse is from the Big On Spring stamp set from Stampin' Up, I'm sure sure why they didn't carry this one over in the new Cataogue. I have water coloured it using crayons then applied crystal effects to glaze it.

Baby Card

Hi to all,

I couldn't resist posting this photo of the Baby card I made. There is just something about Pink that makes me go all clucky.

CARD RECIPE:

- As this is a large card to fit the photo, I've used a full sheet of pretty in pink that I've just folded in half and punched the eyelet border along one edge.

- whisper white is cut at 14 x 20.5cm also punched with the eyelet border and inked with pink pirouette before stuck to card.

- pink pirouette is cut to 20 x12cm and pink d/paper is cut to 19.5 x 11.5cm. Both pieces are inked along edges with sponge and pink ink.

- stick these two layers together then wrap ribbon around the top before sticking to card front.

- outside measurement of pink pirouette frame is 10 x 14cm with two rounded corners and a 3" x 4" fiskars oval cut from centre.

- stamp polka dot b/g in pink and ink edges here too.

- paper pierce around centre of oval and make some photo corners from reverse of d/paper.

- attach photo down and pop dot frame over top

- tie cotton through buttons and felt flowers and glue to frame.

- Name is cut from the Jasmine cricut cartridge at 1" using shadow feature, then glazed over with crystal effects.

Yes here it is, a little sneek peek of this Wednesdays scrapbooking class August 12th to be held at Hooked On Scrapbooking between 9:30 am - 12:30 am.

The l/o is very bold and bright and would especially make a great kids page. My froggy is taken off the design on the t-shirt in the photo, but so many other shapes or die cuts can be used depending on your theme. Help will be given to any one who needs to change the colour scheme or the die cut with many different themes available on the day of the class. Please book either by calling or emailing ( ascorsi@bigpond.com )to get your requirments list for the class. this double page l/o is suitable for anywhere between 2 to 7 photos. If using more make sure the photos can be cropped to about 10 x 10cm.

Spring Mini Catty

It can be used in so many colour themes and for so many occasions just by changing the verse around. Think about using it for these occasions: Wedding, thanks, birthday, friendship, thinking of you, get well, sympathy, and the list goes on. CARD RECIPE:

Stamps used from Stampin' Up: Great Friend

Cardstock: A5, 10 x 6.5cm and scrap for punches and butterfly stamp in whisper white, 14.2 x 10.2cm and scrap for punch in not quite navy, 11 x 7.5cm and 7 x 6cm in baja breeze, two 3 x 14.2cm baja breeze designer paper.

Inks: not quite navy, baja breeze

Accessories: small, large, and scallop oval punches, sponges, pop dots, glue pen and dazzling diamonds, cuttlebug and embossing folder.

INSTRUCTIONS:

fold A5 whisper white in half
run not quite navy piece through cuttlebug using embossing folder of your choice. Attach to front.
take two strips of designer paper and attach to left side of card
attach larger piece of baja breeze slightly off centre
using navy ink stamp leaf on next largest white on right side and sponge around edges. Place on centre of baja breeze
randomly stamp leaves around edge of baja with same colour ink and sponge these edges as well. Attach to left side of white.
stamp butterflies and for you on scrap white with navy. Cut out butterflies and use pop dots to secure them to card front.
centre small oval punch over for you and cut out. Large oval is cut from navy and scallop oval from white.
assemble all layers together and pop dot to card
as an extra finish use glue pen to apply some dazzling diamonds to butterflies

Cardmaking Workshop August 8th

A Wish for Peace I think has to be my favourite Christmas stamp set in the Stampin' Up catalogue. It might be the verse that gets me, but I can think of so many ways to use it. These two X'mas cards above will be created in my next cardmaking workshop on Saturday morning 8th of August at 9:30 am at Hooked on Scrapbooking. You all know how much I love to sketch, well I found a delightful sketch challenge here and this is my take on the challenge.
Card Recipe;
Stamps used from Stampin'Up, For the Bride, Occasional Greetings
C/s; Not Quite Navy(one 29cm x 14.5cm , one 8 x 9cm, and scrap for scallop punch) Going Grey(14 x 12.5cm embossed with cuttlebug, and scrap for large oval)Baja Breeze (7 x 8cm), Whisper White(6.5 x7.5cm and scrap for small oval), Baja Breeze designer paper (for semi circle)
Inks; Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Versamark embossed with silver
Punches; eyelet border, oval scallop, large and small oval
Accessories; Clear rhinestone brads, Baja Breeze striped ribbon, paper piercer and mat, edge distresser, sponge, paisley cuttlebug embossing folder.
Instructions;

Fold large Not quite Navy in half for base of card.
use eyelet border punch along one edge
from Baja breeze designer paper cut a semi-circle using a template or edge of double sided tape. Edge distress around this using tool or blade of scissors
stick to right hand side of Going Grey that has been embossed with cuttlebug and inked around the edges with sponge and Baja Breeze.
Attach ribbon to this about 1/3 down from top
place three rhinestone brads in various sizes to bottom left
emboss cake (from For the Bride set)with versamark and silver powder on whisper white, then pierce around edge
mat this to first baja breeze then not quite navy pieces. Attach to card front.
Stamp Mr & Mrs (from Occasional Greetings set) in Not quite navy position small oval punch over this and cut out. It is also sponged lightly with baja breeze around the edge. Next layer is cut with large oval punch from going grey, then oval scallop from not quite navy. Use a pop dot on right side to attach to card and a little double sided tape on the left.

Wednesday Morning Scrapbooking

Hi to all,

As I'm preparing for Wednesday mornings Scrap class 5th August 2009 at Hooked on Scrapbooking, Edith Street Innisfail, I thought I'd throw in some sneek peeks of the l/o we will be creating. This l/o lends itself to all things pretty. My theme is "Mother and Son" but it would be suitable for anything girly or even weddings. I've chosen a pink for my base but other colour combinations will be able to be used by covering the pink flowers on the paper. Photos required are two 10cm x 15cm landscape and one 10cm x 15cm portrait. If other sizes are selected help will be given to adapt the l/o to suit them. If interested in attending please advise or email me for further details. Some techniques used in this weeks class will be stitching, hand cutting, sponging, glazing just to name a few.

Welcome.....

This is my very first post so it's a bit of a learning curve. Every thing seems to be working quite well so far. Lets hope I can keep up with some regular posts for you.

This card is one I made for my Nan's recent birthday. It also happens to be my favourite floral image in the latest Stampin' Up Catalogue.
